Prospect Park

The second largest urban park in Brooklyn, New York City, Prospect Park is 526 acres of natural beauty. The Prospect Park Alliance, a non-profit that maintains the park, formed in 1987 after the area had long been in a state of decline. Today, with the help of the Alliance, the park is thriving and enjoys millions of visitors each year.

Where Is Prospect Park Located?

The park is located at 450 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225. It is well known for its man made watercourse, ice rink, and many athletic and recreational facilities. The park is also home to the bulk of Brooklyn’s remaining indigenous forest, as well as the first urban-area Audubon Center in the nation. 

What To Do At Prospect Park?

The park is filled with opportunities and fun activities to become a part of. From baseball fields and basketball courts, to playgrounds and barbecue areas. The park is perfect for special occasions such as birthdays or other memorable events. There are also plenty of biking or hiking trails for those who want to get some sun and enjoy a little adventure. 

This park even has its own zoo! There is also a bridal path that offers riders a scenic view of the park. Horses are available for rent, as well as riding classes and pony rides for parties. The park is also home to Brooklyn’s only lake which allows visitors to enjoy some fishing or perhaps rent a paddle boat or kayak for the day.
